BHS rotor turning gear units primarily provide safe cooling for hot rotors in a steam or gas turbine or compressor by slow turning. This helps the rotor remain dimensionally stable. Rotor turning gear units also provide for breakaway, startup, or precisive positioning of shaft trains.
